Hungarian Crescent Cookies (Hókifli)
$22.99
Snow crescent are a variation of Christmas cookies known in Central Europe, and are particularly popular in Hungary. Similar to the traditions associated with crescent-shaped sweets, they are believed to have originated in Vienna, and their crescent shape commemorates the victory over the Turks. The small, croissant-shaped cookies are covered in powdered sugar, which gives them a white color – hence the name hókifli.
Hókifli is a traditional, crumbly Hungarian cookie made with fat, most often filled with nuts, poppy seeds or jam.
